About Us ...
African Video Library was launched in October 2007.
Everyone who goes on safari takes their video camera and some get
incredibly lucky and witness highly unusual inter-action between animals
or simply have amazing sightings.
African Video Library is a video sharing site that lets anyone store
short videos for private or public viewing. The difference with other
similar video sharing sites is that African Video Library is purely
dedicated to safaris. It provides a venue for sharing videos among
friends and family as well as a showcase for new and experienced
videographers.
Videos are streamed to users on the African Video Library site at
www.africanvideolibrary.com and/or via other Web sites. African
Video Library provides specific code for playing each video that can be
embedded on a Web page of a third-party site.
Circulation is growing very quickly. We are promoting the site strongly
through leading search engines and through conventional media. Word of
mouth is also very important and we are encouraging lodges all over
Africa to ensure that their guests know about it too.
Uploading an amateur video is free and if it was taken whilst you were
staying at any of the lodges listed, you can affiliate it to that lodge,
otherwise, just choose “Other” when uploading your video.
If you are the owner of a lodge and would like to be listed so that
videos uploaded are affiliated to your lodge, we charge an annual fee of
£250 GB Pounds [see
www.xe.net/currency
for current exchange rates] to list your establishment. This also means
that you will have access to the correct coding in order to embed and
display it from your own site as if it was hosted by you, and thus have
a video testimonial page of sighting at your lodge. To join, please
complete the
on-line contact form.
Although these “amateur” presentations will benefit each lodge, we also
feel that it is also very important that a lodge displays its own
“professional” video advert. If you would like to discuss the benefits
of having a professional video promotion of your lodge and its
facilities, please use the
on-line contact form and we will get back to
you. |
